The Pull
Trying to Let Go, Still Holding On
sculptureoriginal
This sculpture talks about attachment, how two people can feel stuck to each other even when they want to move apart. The two forms are pulled in opposite directions, showing frustration, anger, and the need for space. But the red threads keep them tied together. These threads represent memories, emotions, habits, and everything shared between them. No matter how much they try to break free, something always pulls them back. It shows how attachment is not always soft or loving, sometimes it can feel heavy and difficult. Even when the connection hurts, it is not easy to let go. The piece captures that in-between space, where leaving feels right, but staying feels unavoidable.
